#1. Osinbajo Warns Governors Not to
Play Politics with National Security
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo Wednesday cautioned the governors of the 36 states of the federation to resist the temptation of playing politics with matters of national security, saying doing so is unhealthy for the country’s unity.
The acting president made the remark when he unveiled the report of his consultative meetings with leaders from both the North and South-east, which indicated that political, religious and traditional rulers from both regions had given their backing for the arrest of anyone who henceforth engages in unlawful agitations, hate and divisive speeches.

#2. Indonesia to build refinery in Nigeria
The Federal Government’s plan to attract
investment in modular refineries as part of efforts to boost local refining capacity has started gaining momentum with an Indonesian firm, PT Intim Perkasa Nigeria Ltd, a subsidiary of PT Intim Perkasa, Indonesia, indicating interest to build a refinery in Nigeria.

#3. LG Chairman ordered #Mambillamassacre, Fulani Communities allege
According to online Newspaper, The Premium Times, The Fulani communities in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State have called on Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to intervene in what they described as genocide being perpetrated against them.
They alleged that a local militia in the area has been killing Fulanis and destroying their property on the orders of the chairman of the local government, John Yep.

#4. CBN Aligns with NCC, to Resist ‘Hostile’Takeover of Etisalat
Just like the Nigerian Communications
Commission
(NCC), the leadership of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has informed the 13 banks that extended a $1.2 billion facility to Etisalat Nigeria that it would resist the move by the lenders to take over the network operator without its express approval. This was the fallout of a meeting held between CBN officials and the CEOs of the 13 banks Wednesday in Abuja.
Citing the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA), the NCC on Tuesday had stepped into the crisis that has enveloped the country’s fourth largest network operator, reminding the banks that they could not take over Etisalat’s operating licence without its approval.

#5. Education Minister: CRK Now
Compulsory Subject in Schools
The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, wednesday denied the submission by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) last week that Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) had been removed from secondary school education curriculum, saying instead, CRK has been made compulsory for Christian pupils.

#6. Mourinho tells Manchester United he
prefers Neymar to Ronaldo
Jose Mourinho has told Manchester United to drop their pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo and aim to sign Neymar instead, according to Don Balon. Ronaldo has been linked with a return to Old Trafford, after reports emerged that he wants to quit Real Madrid this summer.
