Hello,my 2006 jeep commander transmission is driving in limp mode and only engages gears 1&2,before going into limp mode. The ones I saw worked but not all the functions worked on the transmission so I want to order online (if I don't see an exact fit) but I don't know what this part is called. It is located beneath the steering column and controls the transmission.
I'd really appreciate your help.

I think that's the gear brain box

It's called a TCM or transmission control module. It controls gear shifting ratios in automatic transmission cars.

On the sticker is the Part number: P04692392AD

Seems you have been looking for different modules on your jeep recently and I think you are diagnosing it the hard way jeep electrical problems are simple and can be complicated.

Your have to start from the first thing that happened before the problems began and read TSBs and keep sites it might be as simple as a ground wire to an old sensor.
