The situation is just a testament to the greed of the average Nigerian businessman. For them, prices must always look in one direction and that is up.

When conditions favour a price increase, they don't hesitate a second before raising prices, but when the opposite is the case, you have to literally flog them to reverse the increase.

Traders claimed cost of transportation was part of the reason, railway transportation was revamped for local goods, USD as well for imported goods. USD exchange rate has since reduced. Like it was stated above, these are problems cause by the average wicked and greedy Nigerian businessman. Once price goes up, it never goes down in Nigeria why because they make more profit and have justified the increase with a flimsy excuse
