Biafra Referendum: The Catalonian Example Is The Best by HisSexcellency(m): 11:55am On Jun 29, 2017
Following the declaration of 1st October 2017 as set date for the Catalonian people to vote in a referendum which will decide whether they remain part of Spain or form an independent state by the Government of Catalonia, formed by the Catalan European Democratic Party (PDeCAT) and the Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC) as well as independents, with confidence and supply support from the Popular Unity Candidacy (CUP) without the backing of the government of Spain.

The Government of Spain opposes any referendum, maintaining that the Spanish Constitution does not allow for a vote on the independence of any Spanish region while also deeming it as illegal without its consent;an interpretation also favoured by the not binding Catalan Statutory Guarantees Council.
As of March 2017, the Government of Catalonia maintains that the vote will still be held, tendering for materials such as ballot papers and envelopes for a putative regional election in the region.

On 24 March, the Spanish Public Prosecutor's Office in Catalonia announced an inquiry to determine whether a referendum is in the planning. On 9 June 2017, Carles Puigdemont, president of Catalan Government, announced a Catalan Referendum for 1 October.

The Biafran Referendum

Let Ipob in coalition with others in favour of Biafra restoration set a date for a referendum and not waiting on the federal government to do so. Most likely December wish is when alot of igbos come home for the Christmas and new year celebration.
Ipob should choose a date for the Biafran referendum and invite the international community to come monitor it. Including ecowas, AU and UN.

Ehmm, let me remind you that catalan itself was a kingdom on its own since roman times. King ferdinand 1 and queen isabella of aragon, united the kingdoms of present day spain to expel the muslims who have been in control of most of the country since 800AD. So before 'spain' began to exist, catalan already existed! Whereas 'biafra' began to exist long after 'nigeria' began to exist. So anybody who claim CATALAN is fighting for his/her right. Whereas anybody who claims BIAFRAN is a rebel!. The only solution is if there is a series of civil wars and crimes against humanity by nigerian army personnel, thats when BIAFRA can survive just as the case of SOUTH SUDAN!

We are not talking about existence here or from the time biafra started to exist.
We are talking about an agreement that unite us together which says after 100 yrs any Region who wishes to leave can go that is the bases of Biafra stop that ur reference because it is not the same case

Arrant nonsense. Spain is not Niger-Area and the inherent human intellect can never be remotely compared between the two. Ndigbo and IPOB do not want referendum or the foolish talk of restructure, they want what transpired in the defunct USSR, Czechoslovakia and partly Yugoslavia. If self determination cannot be achieve through gentleman's agreement over a dinner table like Europeans do, then inevitability is the case.

You are wrong, Biafra existed 600 years before there was anything called Nigeria and covered all of what is now called SE/SS as well as the Southern Cameroons. I will attach a 14th century map to prove what I mean. Going by your logic, Nigeria is the rebel.

It should be noted that regardless of who came first, Biafra or Nigeria, Nigeria is still an illegal colonial creation of the British and the indigenous tribes that were for forced into the Colony against their will have the right to leave any time they want.

600 years?! Dude go and check history, was there any sort of business deal that ever took place that the 600 year old biafra's name came up. Or in the 14th century was there a nationality as 'biafran'............... Is like saying sub-saharan can be a nationality.

Why would any business deal take place there? The Europeans had not yet come to place. But they kbew it was there , hence the map

It appears that you do not even understand what you quoted or "the gentlman" agreement you insinuated.
The only peaceful way to achieve Biafra is through referendum, ipob knows this and that's why they are pushing for it. Civilized societies use it everytime
