Igbo writer, Mazi Emeka Ijere has tamed the governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi, who has shockingly revealed he turned away from both the Biafra agitation and calls for restructuring the country because he believed his state was not capable of being independent.

Mazi Emeka who wrote in response to the remarks of the governor, brought the facts to the face of the governor, suggesting he was not thoughtful and as such, had not meaningful intent of service to his people for if he was, he would engage in harnessing the abundant resources the state was blessed with, for the good and benefit of his people.

"When the issue of Biafra or Restructuring is discussed, my heart jumps because Ebonyi state does not produce anything. We depend on Federal allocation..."

The above statement is made by Dave Umahi, the executive governor of Ebonyi state.

In that statement, the governor has made it clear that a state like Ebonyi cannot sustain itself but depends on the "OIL MONEY" to survive.

You may know here that Ebonyi state has great linestone deposit which gave birth to 1st cement company NIGERCEM at Nkalagu. Yet it is the same cement that has made Aluko Dangote the richest man in Africa.

Ebonyi state has great salt deposit yet the country imports salt from abroad. In addition Ebonyi state is endowed with several mineral deposits; yet a governor cries foul of inability to turn gold into ornament.

The entire Ebonyi state could become expanse farm land. Abakiliki rice has the best taste of all rice in the country. The sweetest yam in Nigeria is "nwa opoko" and it come from Ebonyi state. Yet the governor thinks that Ebonyi people should depend on Abuja Money or Bayelsa Oil in order to feed.

You can see what the Nigeria nation has turned us to.... "lazy beggers". Our leaders have turned their eyes to PETRO-DOLLAR and have lazily forgotten who we are.

Before 1914, was Abakiliki man begging for food? No.
