He meant that we are His children. In other words, He wants us to know that we can talk to Him without intermediary. But it sad seeing people fall for scammers today calling themselves 'men'(not all men of God though) of God today.




Food for thought: Have you ever seen a loving father who communicates with his children through somebody else as an intermediary?

Are you saying being a child of God turn you into a god? Deities are meant to be worshipped, could that explain why so called men or children of God seek to be worshipped by their blind followers?

Let's expand on your point.

If God says let us make man in our image, let's begin by asking, What is the image of God?

Humans being who we are and living in a material tangible realm, we take things as we see them, hence, when the word 'image' is mentioned the first thing that comes to mind is what the dictionary defines image to mean.

If we define God's image by the dictionary stand point, we'll be defining God in the form of man. We'll be making God in Mans image instead of the reverse.

To know the image of God, we must ask Him who came from the Father, being the only one who has seen the father, Jesus.

In the gospel of Jonh 4:24 it says "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth".

What this means is that, God's image is Spirit.

Now let's point out the characteristics of a Spirit.

1. The spirit is immortal and infinite, timeless.
2. It is invisible, meaning you can't see it with physical eyes. It's like the wind.
3. It is invincible, meaning it's indestructible.

All the attributes listed here are eternal attributes, meaning every spirit is eternal, and every spirit is a god.

Let's now go further to ask, If God is a spirit and He created us in His image, Who are we? Spirits? If we are Spirits then we are gods.

What is the likeness of God?
The likeness of God is the nature of God. His Consciousness. His emotions, His creative abilities. His functioning capacity.
God is love, so we shd be able to Love. God is patient, we shd be patient too. etc.

What am trying to say in essence is that, we are part of God. We have God's DNA in us. we are God's clones, because He made us in his image.
