Today makes it exactly seven years after Luis Suarez palmed the ball to safety at the dying moments of the 2010 World Cup quarter-final game against Ghana.



Sulley Muntari had given the West Africans the lead but a Diego Forlan swerving free-kick brought the South Americans at par.



As the game wore on, the Black Stars pressed on for a goal but Dominic Adiyah’s last minute strike was stopped by Suarez who palmed the ball away - on the touchline.


However, Asamoah Gyan hit the wood works in the resultant penalty with the Black Stars losing out in the penalty shoot-out – missing out on the chance to be Africa's first team to reach the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup.
