Whether you are a University, Polytechnic or College of Education student, the academic road is long and filled with ups and downs. There are times you will be full of excitement and there are other times you will feel dull and overwhelmed, no matter what your performances are. There are times you will want to give up on pursuing your academic career without any tangible reason to do so.
This is normal and it happen to everyone, not only students.
But if this is a common experience, how do you stay on top of your game?
Good question!
Here are some things you should do to maintain high spirit throughout your academic year
1. Practice daily goal visualization:
This is in form of creating a solid image of what achieving your dream/goals will look like, in your mind. It is like acting the play of a successful you. You need to visualize that you have achieved your desired goals. You need to make this picture very clear. The more you practice, the clearer it will be.
By doing this, you will experience immediate increase in your level of excitement and energy. By keeping your energy level high you can easily face more tasks with greater energy. I will advise you do this daily or better still when you feel overwhelmed.
2. Listen to success story of others:
Listening to how others made it and the challenges they went through, will help motivate you and get you back on your fit. This is so because, we all go through similar challenges even though our aims are different.
You will also increase your self-confidence. This is because, you are now sure that what other people have achieved, you can also achieve.
3. Associate with brilliant minds:
If you associate yourself with people who are achieving greatness, you will always be motivated to achieve the same. It will not only make it easy for you to concentrate but will also keep you on track whenever you are doing things the wrong way.
4. Be successful with doing small tasks:
By completing small but important tasks, you are automatically building your self-confidence and increasing your level of self-satisfaction. That way, you will build a positive mental attitude towards yourself and your self-esteem will also go up, you will respect yourself more.
Do all these and you will always be motivated no matter what the situation is.

This is to your success
