Students of Osun State University, on Wednesday embarked on a protest, blocking the popular Ola-iya juncton, and causing gridlock on the axis

This protest is as a result of the death of their colleague in the University.

Recall that remains of a student of the Institution was recently found at the back of an Alfa’s house.

As at the time of filing this report, security operatives in the state had taken control of the situation and normalcy returned to the affected areas.

I think the students should channel the grievances to appropriate quarters rather than holding the lawful citizens to ransom. Though, one sympathize with the students but mustn't take law into their hands.

The student of UNIOSUN should let the law take its course and the force handle the perpetrator of the crime should be dealt with appropriately instead of causing a scene and holding innocent people to ransom. Having a peaceful protest would have been preferred instead of blocking roads and being violent. I pray the soul of the deceased rest in peace.

Very commendable move by the state government and the security operatives to get ahead of this situation. While one can understand the frustration of these students, it is however important to note that dialogue remains the best course of action.

RIP to the deceased student, but I honestly don't get the reason for this protest at the Governor's Office in Osogbo.I understand that the students are upset and want the government to take the matter seriously but there are so many ways they could have done that instead of storming the Governor's office, blocking roads, burning tires and scaring the residents
