MY REWARD

What's my reward, in this far away land
Where the mountains, rise, and valley's, fall.
Where spirit tread, as they wear flesh.
Where men walk, and play, like the dead?

What will be my recompense, when I have crossed this veil.
When my weary journey, must have come to conclusion.
When the whether dulls, and the sun shines no more.
When my hands, can no longer feel, all that is.

Where will I go, what will I be?
Will I be as a bird, will I develop wings?
Will I fly, like the glides of leaves.
Or will I fall, and cower, as one who failed?

Where will my goings lead me?
Have I done, all that is to be done, when the morning did rise?
When the sun, was just a weak child.
When my life, was the air in my nostrils.

Will I regret, all the choices I made.
Will I be like a kid, that wished she never graced this life.
Will I weep, for I never looked back?

What is the proceed of my life, what have I gained?
Silence envelopes me, and my head cowers over.
What have I done with my life?

Has the poor smiled, when I passed?
Has my mother, been proud that she had a son?
Did she clap, when she held me?
Or was it, the defeated sigh of life?

Did her voice sing, like the angelic tone, of my flying friends?
Did she dance, like horses on a race?
Did she cry, and held me dear,
Have I given her, all that she expects?

Smile on me life, but you said no.
I laughed at thee, but you won't dance.
My words were smooth, thine were cold.
At the end, were will I lay my bones?
