• Seek Common Solutions To Nation’s Challenges

In a bid to find common ground in ongoing search for durable solutions to nagging socio-economic challenges confronting the country, particularly the south-south and southeast, governors from the two zones are billed to meet in Enugu today.

The Guardian gathered that the meeting, which is the second after their first meeting in Abuja, would discuss some socio-political and economic issues affecting the two zones, with a view to finding common areas of integration for the overall benefits of the regions.

It was further learnt that today’s meeting will “share thoughts and ideas on how best to bring the powers and resources of the offices of the governors, public and private positions, collectively and severally, to bear on the escalating challenges of security, development, welfare of both workers and general populace, youth restiveness, the unity of the country, unemployment, stagnate economy among others”.

In a statement, Chairman of Southeast Governors’ Forum, Governor David Umahi, said the meeting would bring about the much-clamoured unity among the two zones.

Is Nnamdi Kanu going to be in the meeting?

The most pressing issue should be security of lives and properties for the two regions.

Stop fulani herdsman wandering through every land and village, desecrating farmlands, raping, killing and marching through our farms and water sources.

Fight for state security by having state police.

Find a new source of import waterway, then link it with railways.

Remove army and police checkpoints which rather slow down business and exploit innocent citizens in their own lands.

Time was when I used to be excited whenever such a meeting was announced or held but ever since the exposure of d hypocrisy of our political leaders who have drunk of the poisoned chalice of 'one Nigeria', I just see them as a bunch pf opportunists gathered to sell off or further mortgage the collective destiny and future of their people. Nnamdi Kanu has really opened the eyes of those who are receptive nought to see n comprehend.

Even though our so called leaders won't admit it

South South might considered joining Biafra to breakaway together. and to arranging the constitution and agreeing to it by all parties. it shall be resource control and autonomous to all states to develop at it own pace. referendum to be supervised by UN if any state decide to leave.

the east will be called Biafra with it own flag and while South south Niger Delta with it own flag just like the united kingdom.

This could be good. Even as rigged as the Nigerian system is the South-East/South-South can still be the major economic belt of Nigeria dealing in heavy manufacturing as well as items like clothes, shoes etc. The Gas is there, the Coast-lines are there; Ibaka Seaport must be top of the Agenda.
The same way Lagos has the seaport advantage so also does the Eastern Coast have the gas advantage. We should get to work.

South South governors should work hand in glove with their South Eastern counterparts for regional economic growth and development. Their union is the greatest threat to the fraud called Nigeria more than the call for secession by any other group.
