Doesn't look modern to me.........

With due respect to Afe Babalola (a first rate legal mind) these buildings look terrible. The quality of materials used & indeed the geometrical design of the entire complex (including the university itself) is incredibly poor.

I wonder if he gave the contract to his friend or something (probably based on sentiment). Nigerian builders & architects can do better than this. . .

A teaching hospital is more than buildings. Where are the equipments and where are the personnel to man them.

All the buildings you see there are within the teaching hospital campus. Pictures of the actual university campus aren't there. While I admit that he used a similar design for most of his buildings, I believe the design isn't horrible. Maybe you feel this way because it isn't completed yet. But if you actually visit the teaching hospital in person you'd appreciate it more. Maybe when the buildings are completed you'll change your stance/opinion.

As you can see its under construction, when they finish, everyone would move in.

Why is he building? How will he maintain the place? Who are the patients dat will risk themselves to visit a private teaching hospital all d way in ekiti ?
Just to build it he laid off some staff and suspended salaries of part time lecturers. Will he be able to afford paying the specialist doctors required in a teaching hospital and also finance running costs on the long run?

This building was privately built by an individual and not the govt of Anambra. That it is being used by Anam state uni doesn't make it a product of the govt.
do I say something or keep walking...?

Kindly go thru your write up and identify the POINT I AM MAKING!

They are both individuals with different idea on modern building not govt.

still trying to identify picture 2

Is this not the structure being put up by one popular Nigerian doctor in the US (can't remember his name but I know it has Maduka)? Good it's a modern structure but believe it or not, that isn't enough to make your Anambra state university more modern than ABUAD!

Sentiment drive son!
Not cut out for that

it's not a modern building and doesn't look like the one attended by his kids and foreign babes aleast the Anambra Nigerian Doctor gave something close or is close to what he's used to and befitting to his community.

Get it right son , i can't school you forever

That's a VERY bold claim. Would you mind lodging an official complaint? Making it public? With available evidence? The aggrieved staff who claim their salaries haven't been paid should come forward. After all, Afe is simultaneously building an amphitheatre and three other superstructures on campus. He's also put down funds for the construction of a planetarium and a dam. And he still had spare 'change', enough to organise a 'staff appreciation day' where cash gifts between 20 - 350k/staff member were awarded. So its not an issue of money. Unless you can provide your proof and lodge an official complaint, you should please not make careless statements in an effort to defame Afe Babalola University. Thanks.

Lol. So because he dashed a few pple money it means he is not laying off others? No one is defaming afe's university. All i said was building a teaching hospital for his medical schl was totally unnecessary as he could av partnered or continued his working arrangement with FMC Ido or EkSUTH. Even if he buys facilities who are the patients who will come there considering the way ekiti is? Or u think someone will leave lagos with his sickness and come to Afe Babalola teaching hospital all d way in ado ekiti? Uncle Calm dow and be objective. Not evryone spews out trash on NL. You sound like an excited student trying to defend his schl but Even if u work there, you dont knw that medical schl history like I do. Wont say more than dat.

The argument was about whether d hospital would really be needed or profitable on d long run. Nothing like defamation.
