Google has establish a fund that will support startup on Artificial Intelligence. Gradient Ventures is the name giving to the fund. The purpose of this is to help AI experts with funds to develop their ideas.

According to Google blog, Google will take minority interest in any start up they fund. Many of Gradient teams are engineers on AI, so they can be of help though "the journey from big ideas to product launch"

The goal is to help AI experts who have the "big idea" to overcome engineering challenges that they may face "to create product that will apply AI to today's challenges and those faced in the future"

Google has already registered two portfolio in this respect, Algorithmia and Cogniac. Algorithmia is a "marketplace for algorithms and functions" while Cogniac is "a suite of tools used to create and manage visual models."
