Tips To Help You Write A Winning CV

• Write your basic information clearly and make it readable to anyone.
• Don’t make your contact details so hard to read. Remember that people especially hiring managers don’t have that patience to start decoding what you have written in some tiny fonts.
• Picture your potential employer in mind when writing your CV.
• Tailor your CV to their business and the role you will play in it. This is not hard to find out. If you read the job description very well, you will have a glimpse of what and who they are looking for. You should avoid making the mistakes many applicants’ makes by submitting one version of their CV for the entire job they are applying for. The best practice is to have a general CV and alter it whenever you are applying for a job to position yourself as the right person for the job.
• Poor spelling is the quickest way of getting a rejection. Therefore you should proofread everything you have written in your CV. To ensure the removal of embarrassing errors, you are advised to invite another person like a colleague, friend or family member to read it out to you.
• Check that your CV highlights specific skills you have to offer the employer, appropriate personal qualities for the role, and an understanding of the job requirements.
• Yes, you want to make sure that your CV includes as much information as it can, but you will want to make sure that it isn’t jam packed with information. If, at all possible, you are advised to keep your CV on one or two pages. Be sure to include all applicable information, like your work history if any and your education. When outlining your previous work experience and your education, what is needed is the basic information. Anything else can further be discussed in an interview. Many employers hate reading long CV, especially when the information isn’t always applicable.
