If the plans of a group called Forum of State Commanders of Rochas People Movement (RPM)South-East and SouthSouth Geopolitical zones is anything to go by, the re-election bid of the incumbent Governor of Anambra State is under a serious
challenge. The Forum, which is rooting for the political interest of Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has concluded plans to organize a 2-million-man match in Awka the AnambraState capital later this month in solidarity with All Progressive Congress, APC, ahead of the 2017 governorship election in Anambra State. Chairman of the Forum, Samuel Odoyi, who disclosed this during the inauguration of the state Chairman of the RPM in Anambra at Isuofia, said that the target of the match is to install an APC governor at the Government House in Awka come November this year. Odoyi, who is the Commander of Rivers State Chapter of RPM, said that the Movement is committed to the political interests of the South-East and South-South, adding that the RPM is committed to bridging the gap between the leaders and the people at all levels most especially the grassroots through a massive mobilisation movement. In her remarks, the state Commander of RPM in Anambra, Hon Bridget Nnebdum, who thanked the Forum of Commanders for their support in ensuring that her position as Anambra boss is intact, said that APC will take over Anambra come November courtesy of the efforts of RPM and other organs of the party in the state. In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated Chairman, Chief Augustine Okeke, assured that he will deliver beyond expectation, assuring full loyalty to the state Commander, Hon Nebedum and other topranking members of the group.

the atmosphere in the state is very calm,unlike the previous elections,by this time on 2012,they've started taking campaign to every nook and cranies of the state...IT'S APPARENT,THERE WON'T BE ANY ELECTION IN THE STATE

As an Anambra man and IPOB supporter, I think what might save Obianos neck is that he belongs to APGA, that he is the most popular Governor in Igbo land and power of incumbency. Had Obiano been one of the less popular Governors such as Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, it would have been a wipeout.


Be that as it may, its still about 5 months to the election and IPOB will certainly campaign for everyone to "Sit At Home" on election day.


My prediction is that if IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu do a good job of sensitising the people against going out to vote, there will be very low voter turn out.

If IPOB can get a 70% or more low voter turn out, their biycott would be a success. It might not be enough to remove Obiano but removing Obiano is not the main concern of IPOB. Getting Biafrans to withdraw from the Nigerian electoral process is.
