Shade Ladipo is the Country Director for WEConnect International in Nigeria, a travel and business entrepreneur, and social activist. She is also a regular voice on Smooth FM’s “Grapevine” and a freelance media personality. WEConnect International identifies, educates, registers, and certifies women's business enterprises based outside of the U.S, that are at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by one or more women, and then connects them with multinational corporate buyers. The organisation also runs the WEConnect Academy where women are taught how to grow their companies through a 10 module series, which provides female business owners, a comprehensive overview of the different elements, that make businesses successful.

Nigeria joins South Africa as the second market in Africa where WEConnect International has established a presence. The organization also operates in Asia, South Asia, North America, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.



At the age of 25, Shade founded Avienti Limited — a Destination Management Company with three offices in Nigeria. She has worked with the United Nations Volunteers Nigeria and several advertising agencies where she specialized in event management, account management, and client services and strategy.

Shade is one of the founding members of the Lagos Global Shapers and represents Nigeria at World Economic Forum events. She is also the Co-Founder of Enough Is Enough Nigeria, now one of the most vocal non-partisan organizations, credited to being a major part of the platforms for young people, in deciding Nigeria’s path of change.

Shade has been recognized by several platforms for her work as a change agent, and businesswoman. She has been nominated at the Future Awards Africa Awards, chosen as 101 Young Acheivers at the African Business Forum in Accra Ghana in 2008, and selected as a Goldman Sachs fellow.

From a humble background, Olajide Adeniran fought his way through different life hurdles and challenges. Many times he was knocked down, but each time, he keeps picking himself up and continued the struggle.

Growing up in the then rustic Ilasamaja community in Mushin, Lagos was not an easy one for him. From an early stage in his life, he had to‎ contribute to the meagre economy of the family, by hawking all sorts. So bad it was that he hawked mats in his quest to ensure that the family survives! But in the face of all these intimidating challenges, one thing is evident about him; he refused to give up. He had this fire of passion, aspiration and determination burning right inside him.

Under intense pressure, frustration, fear and ‎poverty, he completed his primary school education and went ahead to equally finish his secondary school education which prepared him for the tertiary institution. His choice was the Polytechnic Ibadan, in Oyo state, the then satellite campus known as Adeseun Ogundoyin campus situated in Eruwa (Now Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa). He was offered admission to read Mass Communication. It was in this school that his leadership and benevolent characteristics which he still maintain up till date became evident.

He rose to become the president ‎of his department association; Association Of Student Communicators. After his Ordinary National Diploma, he left the school and started plying his trade with Lagos State Television situated at Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos (LTV) first as as an intern and later as a full member of staff. Love him or hate him, one thing nobody can take away from him is his hardwork and passion for whatever he does. He is a Fellow of both the Chartered Insurance Institute of London and Nigeria, an alumnus of Lagos Business School and member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and Institute of Directors. He served over 10 years with Siemens AG. Germany and joined VGC Communications in Nigeria in 2000, two years later he was appointed the first indigenous General Manager of the company, a position he held until very recently, when MTN Nigeria Communications Ltd. acquired 100% stake in VGCCL.

He is a member of many National and International professional associations, a founding partner of CNSSL. The Founder of CNSSL Contact Centre Ltd. and the President of Royal FM a private Internet Radio Broadcast Station in Nigeria. Gbenga is the Author of the acclaimed “Telecom in Nigeria – a role in the call” a book on telecommunication’s development in Nigeria and recipient of several merit awards.
