You don't get things easily

What is your problem?

You have just one or two auto-motive companies ie Innosson and may be one other, Yoruba people have more than 5 auto-motive companies, so what are you proving?

You don't get it?

Sorry. Show me the pics of 'Yoruba owned' auto companies fabricating the car chassis like i showed or shup up forever. Heyyy. Yaribads have LOST Again o.

Story story. Story. Typical afonja. Area boy scum. Owo mi da, wazo mi da, ko ni da fun baba e.
Don't waste your time with Afonjas they are only trying to play catch up with the Igbo's, you should know Afonjas are jokers when they listed apps that don't have up to one thousand downloads or when the listed products that have not even reach beta testing stages, one even mentioned alabukun grin Please don't waste you time with them as you can see they even listed banks and oil companies just to clutch on straws for survival, We are talking manufacturing this ones are listing tailors and apps, as if they can match Aba in cloth making or have any of them sold an App to apple for $1b. Just allow Afonjas this one opportunity to masturbate in peace.

The Indigenous manufacturers in Anambra state alone have thump all that they listed here, and I am not counting Abia, Enugu or even our brothers outside Nigerian shores like afonjas have done, yet this list that I reduced from Anambra state alone have toppled everything the op and every other Afonja listed. I would have created a thread but we already have too many on this forum already and I am sure one of our brothers is already doing so grin

You know Afonjas are Joker when they list proforce, Guinness, procter and gamble, benson and hedges, Airtel as their companies even when these companies have the head office in their respective countries.... take Afonjas seriously are your own peril, same people that said they own Next towers in VI because it was finance by GT bank. You just can't help but alway give the most stupid trophies to Afonjas. The deserve it.

This is the kind of list we expected from Afonjas, not tailors, cobblers and welders, we expect Names of companies, and the address if they are not global players, this is why Afonjas fail exam and will always come second to Igbo's in terms of education, industry and achievements.

This is a cut down list for manufacturers in Anambra state alone, yet is surpassed what Afonjas brought in their defense on this thread. Shame.

Yorubas aren't noisemakers. We own large companies, not 2x2 corner shops. We're creative, we don't make fake copies. Yoruba products are reliable. We focus on quality, not on quantity.

A Yoruba nation with natural resources, a mega city, multi-rich companies, high illiteracy rate, investor-friendly, etc is more likely to survive a breakup than other regions. We have everything!!

U hv everything why then are u frustrating and opposing those who want to be on their own?

The Igbo are industrious people evidenced by what you can see at Aba, Nnewi, and Enugu. However, what they do in those places are also replicated in other places across Nigeria by other ethnic groups may be not on a larger scale or in a more concentrated location as in those places. For instance, I know of someone who needed a pressing machine for his small shoe factory and he went to Aba, they made something for him which to me is ingenuous. There are also Yoruba people engaged in such metal based works in Ibadan, Kaduna and kano.
Let me take another example shoes, Aba is known for made in Aba and generally when its not from abroad, alot of people think check it out for Aba however, alot of Yoruba and Hausa make shoes albeit at different levels of quality . For instance, the man I mentioned make over five thousand pairs for retail stores in Lagos and for exports, quality exports and that millions of naira in profit, and he's Yoruba.Alot of Yoruba are making money from such sectors that generally people believe certain ethnic groups are dominant but quietly maybe. For those who deride those local products as dudu osun soap etc, you have not started with life, not everyone can foray into steel based products

Furthermore, when you assemble a product say innosson cars, you begin to learn the underlying technology and maybe you can one day offload the burden of foreign license hanging over you. Innosson isn't manufacturing yet but like all the others, it can get there. However, assembling under your own brand is not much different from assembling for established brands like Toyota
or other assembling plants in and around Lagos.
I feel those who make more money are now the tech guys and as intangible as their services may seem, their products are money e.g. Nairaland.
I hope the Igbo and Yoruba can see that they actually complement each other. Thank you.

Yoruba dominate real estate

1. Weyinmi Edodo: CEO of International Property Development Consortium (IPDC). He's a fine economist and an alumnus of Havard Business School (Real Estate). The company, which describes its obligation as bridging the gap in the provision of quality, affordable, and luxury buildings, that are analogous to modern cities and towns like Cape town, Monte Carlo, and Miami, has over the years proven its mantle in this highly competitive field. With its flagship development in Lagos known as the Medici by Sujimoto on Milverton Road, Ikoyi to the upcoming Lorenzo by Sujimoto on Bourdillon in Ikoyi, the company has shown that it is force to reckon with as far as luxury real estate development is concerned in Nigeria.

How three students created Nigeria's online jobs giant

Instead of slacking off, Ayodeji Adewunmi, Olalekan Olude and Opeyemi Awoyemi started an online job search company.

Five years later their start-up, Jobberman, has got a multi-million dollar valuation, employs 125 people, and is still growing.

Africa’s leading women in tech 2015

Funke Opeke
Funke was born and raised in Nigeria where she obtained a degree in Electronics & electrical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in 1981 before she proceeded to New York for a Master’s degree at Columbia University.

According to Girls in ICT, following graduation from Columbia, Funke pursued a career in ICT in the United States and successfully ended that phase of her career as an Executive Director with the Wholesale division of Verizon Communications in New York when she decided to return to Nigeria in 2005.

Funke joined MTN Nigeria as Chief Technical Officer, and also served as adviser to Transcorp and Chief Operating Officer of NITEL for a brief period before launching Main Street Technologies in 2007. The company went on to raise $240 Million to build the pioneer private submarine cable system in West Africa – Main One Cable. The 7,000km cable runs from Portugal down to Accra, Ghana and Lagos, Nigeria and is delivering wholesale broadband capacity across several countries in West Africa today.

6 Emerging Female Entrepreneurs To Watch In Africa

Imoteda Aladekomo, Heels In The Kitchen

No one expected West African food to emerge as the world’s healthiest when Lancet Global Health’s reviewed of dietary habits from around the globe earlier this summer. Unfortunately, you won’t find much African food on the world stage as other cuisines such as Italian, Chinese and Indian are the go-to choices for international palettes. Cordon Bleu trained chef Imoteda Aladekomo has plans to change that by globalizing African food, starting with her native Nigerian dishes. She wants to use television as a platform to show the richness and diversity in the dishes and make it more accessible to non-Africans. With a show already filmed and plans underway to expand to merchandising, Chef Tomi may become the next biggest cooking star.

Kasope Ladipo-Ajai, Omo Alata Foods

Omo Alata, the Yoruba name for spice seller is a budding food processing company that wants to simplify the way Nigerians cook their food. As a busy wife and computer science graduate Kasope Ladipo-Ajai no longer had the 2-3 hours it took to make a standard stew or soup after facing hours of traffic plus a full workday. Spending time abroad she saw how quick service and prepackaged meals made life easier for busy families, especially working moms. While busy urbanites are having trouble accessing and cooking fresh meals, millions of pounds of produce go to waste during long transit times to urban centers. Kasope and her husband Olatayo founded Omo Alata Foods to provide ready to cook pepper and stew products and tap into the rapidly growing middle class consumer and desire for high quality packaged foods.

First I am not FKO81.

Secondly when will Afonja list their own mushroom companies for all to see instead of brandishing that of people overseas who have no even done a beta test for their product, sold a single unit or even got up to 1000 free download for their apps, these are the people you want to use to compare with Igbo industrialist you must be a joke.

I am waiting for your mushroom list, and if your choose to give us global list then put the names and address of the companies so we can run our checks not every one is comfortable with Afonja source. grin

You wrote 'high illiteracy rate'. I completely agree.

Proforce is not owned by afonjas it is owned by Brazilians, same way Toyota, Nissan, and Tata assemble cars in Lagos is thesame way proforce assembles trucks in Ogun.

Afonjas simply claim it thesame way the claim every multinationals domiciled in their region, like Guinness, Procter and Gamble, Etc, like today they now claim Toyota, Nissan, and Tata don't forget they also claimed next towers in VI, the only reason they have not claimed shell, total and Agip is because they don't get the oil from the SW.

Register a telecoms compamy, install masts and transmitters to cover large areas and sell sim cards. Does Glo manufacture the transmitters. NO. Do they manufacture the phones. No. They dont even manufacture their sim cards. I bet you Glo will wait for Aba boys to manufacture the transmitters and boosters for them. Yeye pipu. Losers.
