[quote author=0b100100111 post=58473544] Chest-beating as usual! You don't know the present capabilities of the Nigerian Armed Forces. Your lots that have a single jet fighter! re even chest beating. Now tell us what the Nigerian army has. The last time I checked Their fighter jets and ships are outdated trash from world war II. They re still battling with common Boko haram for how many years now. The unlimited weapons from the british won't happen this time. The Nigerian army felt the impact too it wasn't a walk through for them. Bloody murderers that targeted civilians. |

iamblisz: Apt response sir. However I disagree with your statement in bold, permit me to express my observation about the quagmire that is Biafra and the secessionist movement, by firstly examining its genesis. 1. 1966 - Nigeria's 1st coup (led by an officer of Ibo extraction) that eliminated a good number of influential politicians from the 1st republic (mostly of northern & western extraction) 2. Still 1966 - Nigeria's 1st military head of state assumed control and took over from the coup plotters. He, for whatever reason (probably tribal) refused to prosecute the coup plotters which caused national outrage. 3. Again in 1966 - General Ironsi (He was also slated for assassination in the failed coup), introduced unification to the Nigerian system of government, hence centralizing power. 4. 1966 shaa o - People start de vex for ironsi, especially for north as dem see say him no wan do the needful. Ethnic tensions were rising, as the country, especially the north was suspecting a conspiracy. They subsequently started plotting a counter coup. I'll stop here, to be continued. In summary, I am of the opinion (not withstanding my absolute opposition to the unfortunate pogroms that ensued), that the Ibo, have been the cause of their problems in Nigeria. Actions or inactions of individuals especially from the south east region have one way or the other cemented a perpetual distrust for the Ibo people and subsequently led to their being maligned. Also, the cries for restructuring, true federalism e.t.c also fail to consider the fact that General Ironsi's 'Decree 34' abrogated the country's federal structure in exchange for a 'Unitary one'. In essence General Ironsi (an Ibo man) undid & abolished federalism from Nigeria back in the day. Even though he meant well (God bless him) So who exactly, are the Ibo blaming or rather who exactly should they blame for their misery in a country of people who have genuinely always had a potential for peaceful coexistence? I'm sorry to say that the Ibo really need to do a lot of retrospection in respect to their plight and seriously consider working harder and joining hands to build a better nation. Balkanisation creates weak nations and weak nations are generally poor nations! Think twice about Biafra! God bless Nigeria! 1 Like |

As it was said, if pa gowon did not renege on the trusted gentle men agreements of ABURi WE STAND with ojukwu there would'nt have been that needless war. Pa gowon pleased the north which caused the war. Pa gowon is been quiet about that his singular mistake while every blame is on ojukwu. Pa gowon should resolve this problem becos there is no war ground in midwest as we will not run helter scatter again. |

iamblisz: I really think u should go and read history. No nation survives a second civil war. It is usually so bloody that the oppressors against their own will would let go. These days no one needs to look for weapons again, evil businessmen from from shore to shore looking for conflicts to supply weapons to. And There's enough oil to entice them here.. 1 Like |
