Lukaku To Manchester United: Five (5) Matters Arising by manutdNaijaFM: 7:38am On Jul 15, 2017
Manchester United signed Romelu Lukaku from Everton about a week ago to occupy the office of "Goal Scorer in-Chief ". Following series of meetings with various committees and stakeholders, ManUtdNaijaFM decided to bring up 5 important matters arising.

1. BIG CLUB PRESSURE
Being a No 9 at Everton is certainly not the same thing as being a No 9 at Manchester United. Premier league defenders who used to smile with you at Everton will mark you like 'Isakaba boys' at United.

Lukaku's move to United is indeed a big step up and we can only hope he is able to cope with the pressure.

2. DISAPPERANCE IN BIG GAMES
Lukaku has been accused of doing "WILLY-WILLY" things when it comes to big games. Only 4 out of his 25 goals last season were against top 4 clubs. Infact, he did not score against new employers (Maybe he was trying to "bribe" them to sign him).

The interesting surprise however is that his Predecessor Zlatan "Ekwueme" Ibrahimovic scored less against the top clubs (3 goals).....and still hit over 25 goals!!!

Furthermore, United's problem last season was simply failing to finish off small teams, with most matches ending in 'okro soup' scores. Imagine that such draws were converted to wins.....We would have been singing a treble Hymn.

3. STYLE OF PLAY
The Big Belgian is known for his strength and pace, reminiscent of the Super Eagles "Big bull" Daniel Amokachi. In addition, Lukaku likes to run into channels, constantly seeking space behind defenders. This is opposed to our current forwards who like ball-to-feet.

This hopefully will improve the output from our department of Goals with this new HOD.

4. PLENTY MONEY.
Lukaku was signed for a whooping sum of £75 million. It sounded like a joke initially, but in the end, United coughed out the cash. United fans and 'bad-bele' rivals alike wondered aloud ; "Lukaku £75 million? How?". Well, we can only hope he's worth the cash.
But again, like Igwe Baba Fergie predicted, "transfer market don spoil". If Raheem Sterling was worth £50million, then Lukaku who has shown consistency for the past 3 seasons should be worth it.

5. FEAR OF EVERTON DEALS
Whenever I hear about a deal with Everton, I remember Oga 'Davido' Moyes, and Oga Fela. These do not strike good memories in the minds of United fans.

However, the last good deal from Everton was in the person of "Ichie" Wazza Rooney, who became United's all time leading goal scorer. Happily, he is somewhat part of the deal again and so I think it's a good omen that Romelu Lukaku will be an "Ogbonge" signing for Manchester United.

May the goals flow, may the hatricks and braces pour and may the reign of our new "Striker-in-chief" be long!!!
GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED.
