CHRISTIANITY: The Weak And The Strong. by Nobody: 8:12pm On Jul 15, 2017

Christianity is a life-time journey for the faithful and unfaithful, loyal and lukewarm. The journey of each individual christian is based on their faith. In this journey, it's compulsory than necessary to jump hurdles. We are all faced with some experiences & obstacles on this journey. What have you EXPERIENCED so far? It's like climbing a high moutain or an uphill to get to the top, and it's normal to find some mysterious birds trying to waylay or pull you down, or a wind from nowhere pulls you down. Such are the experiences in christian journeys. The mysterious birds connotes the devil, the wind connotes their powers to pull us down. And if we'd ever fall or down, it's the amazing grace of God that'll swiftly save us.

In this case, we have the weak and strong kind of Christians. Either we are weak or strong, the grace of the Almighty God makes us go further and still strengthens us(we are all under grace[Ephesians2:5, Titus1:11]) and our strength is of the Lord(Philipians4:13).

THE WEAK (CHRISTIANS)

These are the kind of people who are not with courage and have little strength in faith & overcoming. They rely on God and may rely on other strong christians.
If weak christians are not careful, their weakness may overcome them, and they might fall on the way. Weak Christians may be characterized by;
I. Quick to fall into temptation and sin
II. Lukewarmness(sometimes)
III. Inability to live according to the engrafted Word(Bible)
IV. Weak in prayer/praying... Fasting etc.
V. Inability to perserve, forbear and endure
VI. Weak in spirit

Weak Christians are easily challenged by the devil, if not prayerful. If weak Christians need to be strong, they need to stay very prayerful without ceasing and inclined with the engrafted word of God to feed their soul and spirit(1Peter2:2).

THE STRONG(CHRISTIANS)
These are the kind of people who are strong in faith and in spirit. Spiritually alert and sound. Whilst not depending on their strength, they muchly depend on Christ.

Strong Christians may be characterized by;
I. Steadfastness in spirit
II. Ability to perserve, forbear and endure
III. Empowered strength by the Holy Spirit to overcome sin and temptation
IV. Deep Interest in praying/fasting
V. Strong faith

COMMON QUESTIONS/THOUGHTS & ADVICE

*Am I really going to make heaven at last?
Advice: It's a common and general question of some labouring christians. This can't just also be a question of a weak mind, but a doubtful mind. In this course, the devil has come to tempt your faith, but do not heed. Keep on labouring and perserving, Christ is hope of Glory. We are all labourers in the vineyards of God(Matthew20:1-16) and Jesus says "No man having held the plough and looking back is worthy of the kingdom of heaven(Luke9:62)." Having said all this, Jesus meant that, if a person is working and pursuing goals towards the kingdom of heaven, and becomes lukewarm and lazy, he won't inherit the kingdom. WHO THEN CAN BE SAVED? All things are possible with God and not with men(Matthew19:26). Take Job for instance. He never gave up(or cursed God) but kept moving on because he had a goal and vision. PERSERVANCE & FORBEARANCE is key.

*What if I fall along the line?

Advice: Christ is not giving up on us and will never. Because, he is the same, yesterday, today and forever. He is the tower of strength & He is the only one who can strengthen us(Philipians4:13). Our situation should fuel and strengthen our desire for christ. A real Christian is also approved by ability to face situations, our situations (should) strengthen our desire for Christ and not weaken it. You can only fall along the way when you tend to backslide(Romans8:6). Life is a matter of choice. It is written: "set your affections on things above and not in the world."

-Romans8:35-
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or unclothedness, or peril, or sword?

As Christians, we should never be a "Stumbling Block" or a "Rock of Offense" in the life of others. Please, let's imitate Christ. The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you and your spirit(2Timothy4:22). Amen.

Quote(From T.B Joshua's "The Mirror" ) : "God chooses the grace rather than work(Eph2:8-9). This means that if the weak come to him HE would help their weakness just as HE would help the strong. God knows we are weak that is why HE chooses grace."

Romans8:18; For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
