Leaning To Unlearn by Alliteration: 5:48am On Jul 16, 2017
Humans are generally learning beings. There are both arithmetic and geometric additions into our knowledge archive. It is generally believed that grave is the only terminating tool to knowledge. Besides, there is a basic division of experiences into the past, present and future expectations. The major set back in the learning scheme is that we have structured ourselves to forget what we ought to remember and remember what we ought to forget. It is time we started a new schooling on how to unlearn. As a Christian, we must learn to unlearn some things which include the following.
1. Stings of Pains: If you have spent over 15 years already in this world, you have seen too much already. But, life has a way of reminding us the pains and forgetting the pleasures. We wrote our good deeds on water and inscribed the painful ones on brass. We must learn to unlearn the pangs of the past. When we see fruits, we must learn to remember the sweetness of the juices and not the one time sting of bees. We gain more by managing our pains well.
2. Strings of Pollutions: Our smelling organ seems to leave us with indelible marks of bad odor. What we smelt seems to affect how we now think. Because I was injured by the thorns on rose in the yesteryears doesn't say the smell of rose is repulsive. Besides, many have already pinned a particular odor to a particular thing, even if a good thing smells like that, they are not ready to bend. Remember, two flowers could smell alike. Don't conclusively reject the best. You will hear, ‘All men are bad’…Are you drawing an absolute premise from few bad ones you met?
3. Stains of Perversions: There are three basic levels of forgiveness, from God, neighbors and oneself. The difficulty in receiving forgiveness comes in that order. It hardest for one to forgive himself. Many of us had foolish and silly pasts that dented our testimonials but we must learn to cleanse ourselves off the stains, forgive ourselves and move on. The stains and perversions of the past are present tutors and not persistent terminators. Forgive yourself and give yourself peace.
4. Slights of People: In the pathway of progress, we have met with accusations and false indictments. People that ought to understand have slighted us terribly. We must learn how to unlearn the slights we have received. No matter how wrong the slights might be, UNLEARN. Forget your slights to focus your sight.
5. Speeches that Pierces: Are the best of your sides pierced by words that ought to soothe? Can you recollect that the pierced sides of Christ generate our healing virtues? Except we forget the injury we have sustained by the kiss and miss of friends, we will only continue in deteriorating fury.
6. Steps that Plagued: Have you been plagued by wrong steps? Is that a reason to be shelled completely? We need to learn that roads look alike and might have treaded the wrong path in the past,we need to change direction and move on. Mistakes are there to be made, make one today to gain experience for tomorrow.
7. Slacked Promises: Never rest on immutability in man, you will be unable to bear the brunt. On a sincere ground of truth, promises from men might seem slack, slow or not forthcoming. This doesn't depict that promises are not fulfilled. Falling into the tokens of liars doesn't mean there are no tokens of truth. Wise up and unlearn.
8. Shattered Purposes: Purpose pursuits, so called has driven some out of their real purposes. Our purpose stand still in the face of flinching dangers. If your purpose seems shattered, unlearn the pains and relaunch. You must achieve your purpose before you leave your world. I also trust you not to be a second best settler.
9. Sealed Pride: We are too full of ourselves by fooling ourselves. We need to forget our pride and ego, so as to learn new things. On the high tower of pride, we believe we know all things. It is an ignorance to believe you know all things. Omniscient is not an attribute of mortals. Unseal your pride and learn in humility.

10. Special Performances: Do you know our goods may be our limitations. We have gotten accustomed to good performances and we see no need to improve. We see ourselves always on our best days, we are deceived and derided. Learn to unlearn some special performances, so as to enhance the best of you.
