Anambra and Imo states were con­spicuously missing from the list of states from the South East geopolitical zones earmarked to bene­fit from the federal govern­ment’s N1.6 billion inter­vention funds for 15 states ravaged by flood.

Beneficiaries of the funds approved by the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo during the Fed­eral Executive Council (FEC) meeting includes, Abia, Ebonyi and Enugu from the South East; Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Edo from the South-South; Ekiti, La­gos, Osun and Oyo from the South West plus Kebbi, Kwara, Niger, Plateau and Sokoto from the North.

According to the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the ministry of fi­nance has been directed to release the intervention fund directly to the Nation­al Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for imme­diate disbursement to the benefitting states.
