The best form of patriotism anyone can express is to support the politics of development, and not of pedestrian or personal interests.
When the Ajimobi government recognized the need to reverse the rot and retrogression in our educational sector by moving to cancel the automatic promotion in # Oyo state schools for example, some politicians and people waxed lyrical in ignorance and tried to incite the people and the students against that policy.
But, today, just a little over a year, that policy to ensure students are promoted based on merit and optimum understanding, together with other policies like OYOMESI and the Schools' Governing Board, is yielding fruit, the students themselves are better and thankul for it, and our state is gradually climbing back to a pride of place as the Pacesetter.
In just a year, we moved up 8 places from 33rd to 26th in the # WAEC rankings and almost top in
# NECO? Hope we all understand how huge that is!! POLITICS OF DEVELOPMENT people!

It guess lots of Westerners aren't aware that the mantle of education has gone to the East.
