Over the week, there was a trending video on how a popular man of God called out some youths and merged them together. That very video was controversial as so many people used it as an opportunity to either question the authority Of the scriptures or the sanity Of The believers.

We now live in a world where unlike apostle Paul who said, You say, "I am allowed to do anything"--but not everything is good for you. You say, "I am allowed to do anything"--but not everything is beneficial. 1 Corinthians 10:30, we believe we have the right to do all things.

Authority is not equal to anointing and the two can never be the same. While the leaders Of The Pharisees lord it over them, Christian leaders ought not to do that.

Marriage is an institution ordained by God and it was in his plans to make Eve out Of the ribs of Adam and brough her to him. She was created when Adam was fast asleep and when he woke up from the God induced sleep he found her and said this is the bone of my bone...

Should Christian leaders be involved in match making?

I don't think so. Christian leaders are supposed to serve as a guide and not as rulers, they are supposed to speak the mind Of The Lord to the people and stand also a mediators. If the Lord has spoken to him about it then, it was a nice move, after all, God works in mysterious ways.

So was matching them a wrong thing? No

I have been around the church for a very long time now to see that most dedicated Christian brothers and sisters don't know how to express their feelings. The reason why a lot Of The good brothers are not married is because they are waiting for the will of the Lord which was already available but they are too spiritual to see.

The man of God in question only helped the shy brothers and sisters to be able to express themselves and let them know that their is nothing wrong in having a wife.

Hmmmm.....brother I don't think that was an appropriate method at all.
I believe in being practical in one's faith (in many aspects), but the whole situation just was "off".
God has said to do things decently and in order.
What he could've done is have a seminar for young people on "How to prepare for marriage by first letting God work on you" sort of thing....
Something that would introduce biblical principles for marriage...

In our quests to get people quickly married, we make some terrible mistakes that lead to grave consequences.
Too many people are "mated" but not "matched".
It's God who ultimately lets a man know who should be his bride....and He (God) doesn't need "our" help smiley
My take....

The fact is, there's a very big "loophole" in Christianity: God works in mysterious ways. So there's no script. And that is what religious charlatans parading themselves as Men of God take advantage of. But the smart and true Christians still have the Holy Spirit and the Bible to guide them.
1 John 4: 1: Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world

match making is totally wrong . If only they that did it know what they have aborted.
shy or no shy. If you can't express your self why don't you go and develop yourself, a man that can't express himself , how do you expect him to lead a house? Match making is from he pit of jell to abort the visions and plan of God for a marriage. If you want a perfect marriage go to God and ask him yo direct you to her. Match .making is not a solution to the shyness, marriage is not for kids. If one is shy, he should develop himself. God bless you op

Hi brother,
LOL...no I have never been a resident of anywhere in Lagos or in Nigeria.
Unfortunately, I've never stepped foot on the continent of Africa.
I'm currently working on traveling to Nigeria though and will be seeing my relatives for the first time!

Born and raised in the U.S..
Love that you named a city and year, but I was finishing up my final years of college around the times you stated and hadn't been traveling anywhere.

But I get that a lot from folks..here in the U.S. saying I resemble someone they know.
You know the saying, "Everybody has a twin!"
Everybody looks like somebody on this planet...I just probably happen to have features similar to the person you once knew (which would make sense since I have a mixture of features from both sides of genes)...(black American and Nigerian) smiley

Lovely.
I appreciate the extensive response detailing everything I needed to know.
The person you remind me of did me a world of favor and I never got the chance to say "Thank You". Well, it is a small world, she might stumble upon this thread.

Yeah, we all have that person who shares all of our features, though I am yet to see mine grin

You havent stepped a foot in Africa? Hmmm...I bet you cant wait to explore all that mother Africa has to offer

Did your Nigerian parent happen to give you any of our native names? Would love to know what it is... wink

Lol....did you a "world of favor"? Interesting statement, but that's not my business....
Yes...it's a small world after all.
Oh I try to imagine how I will react....i probably will be in a state of shock for a moment thinking, "I finally, finally made it to my other home!"

Oh look at my moniker....my name is partially revealed there....
My name is quite common. Seen it several times here in NL.
My entire name is Igbo.....my dad's tribe smiley

World of Favor...an unrivalled kindness, one she was sure I couldnt payback and one she did when no one was looking. She was the good Samarithan in flesh and blood.

You wouldnt know how to react till you get here, there wouldnt be any spoilers from me though, I wouldnt want to dilute the fun.

Yeah, I figured your moniker could be what you just comfirmed it to be. It's quite a common Igbo name.

And the said members didn't seek the face of God for revelation? What if the answer to their prayers are staring at them while they pray? I hai seen cases of Christian brothers and sisters missing it because they're waiting on the lord were as the answer to their prayers is staring at them. The pastor only took the bull by the horn and gave choices to decide if they will marry each other or not
