What aspect of Agriculture do you think is more profitable, Animals e.g Poultry or Cash Crops e.g Cocoa.

I would appreciate answers with reasons.

For cultivation/rearing or buying and selling as a middleman? I ask because I saw cocoa in your example knowing fully well the crop takes time and usually in plantation.

it depends on one's location.


if I was based in the Western part of Nigeria, cultivation of Cocoa will be top on my list.


but in my location, poultry, fish farming and rearing of Goats and Sheep will yield more income.

Profitability is relative depending on the goals. If your goals is long term I will advise you go for cash crop. Although cash crop is capital intensive but once it start yielding its dividend it will profit you for your life time with lesser stress. I am into charcoal and cashew business.
