DEVELOPING OUR ENTIRE BEING...


God created us in his own image. Therefore, we human beings are tripartite in nature, quite akin to the nature of God. Our entire being is made up of The body, soul and spirit (1Thess. 5:23). So to completely develop ourselves, we must develop our body, soul and spirit separately.
Physical exercise and healthy eating can nurture and develop our body but our spirit and soul will never develop until we understand what they mean and what it takes to develop them.
God created man with a natural body and spiritual body. The natural body was the first man, and it belongs to the earth. The spiritual body was the second man, and it belongs to God (1Cor. 15:44-47).
The physical body comprises the bones, flesh and blood; the spiritual body comprises our conscience but the soul is made up of the mind(conscious and sub-concious) and the will.
The soul can be developed by learning, reading and listening to inspired messages etc. A highly developed soul can add value to the body and spirit and also facilitates their development.
The body and soul are terrestrial but The spirit is celestial. Therefore, the surest way to develop our spirits is by paying attention to our conscience- doing what is right and avoiding the wrong things always. The more we follow the directives of our conscience, the more we develop our spirits. Also the space that lies between our soul and spirit should be filled with the word of God (Hebrew 4:12). Developing our spirits becomes very important because it is only through our spirits that we can worship and relate with God (John 4:24).
Unfortunately, in our world today, those who knows how and works hard to develop their bodies are few; those who knows and works hard to develop their body and soul are fewer; and those who knows and works hard to develop their entire being(body, soul and spirit) are the fewest...
