In a world were impossible things happen on daily basis, it was not surprising when the unimaginable happened in far away swiss were the bodies of a couple that had disappeared for 75 years were later found on a receding glacier in the Swiss Alps 75 years after they had gone missing on August 15, 1942.

They were last buried on Saturday near their native village Their two surviving daughters were present at the funeral service in the church at Saviese in Valais canton, a few kilometres from Chandolin where Marcelin Dumoulin and his wife Francine were living when they disappeared

The husband known by his name Dumoulin, and his 37-year-old wife were reported to have left their home that fateful morning to check on their cattle, which were being kept in an alpine pasture in neighbouring Bern canton but were never seen again.

Their seven children, then aged 2 to 13, were placed in foster care two months after a fruitless searching for their parents.

Seven decades after their missing, An employee of a local ski resort discovered them on July 13 with their bodies still preserved in the Tsanfleuron glacier at an altitude of 2,600 metres (8,500 feet).

Three-quarters of a century later the question now on the lips of many people is what happened to the couples? It may take time before the mystery gets unraveled.
