The foundation which was set up by her mother, Mrs. Hadiza Isma el-Rufai, is in her memory and for the posterity of her passions in arts and literature.

“We wanted to immortalise her and to keep her creative vision alive”, she said.

Nasir el-Rufai described his late daughter as a wonderful child who had passion for the less privileged in the society.

“As I was watching the documentary, I cannot control tears in my eyes. She was a wonderful daughter. Apart from Yasmin,we also lost a son. The foundation is being run privately. We will continue to support creative initiatives in Kaduna”, a teary el-Rufai said.

Governor el-Rufai, along with wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha, among other dignitaries, officially launched the governor’s late daughter’s ‘Yasmin el-Rufai Foundation’ (YELF).
