Prehistoric eye: Our eye are very sensitive and can notice single light photons. on a bright day, the eye can see the Andromeda star group, the nearest galaxy to earth – without any telescopes. That galaxy is 2 and a half million light years away. but when the those light rays started their journey from Andromeda to our eyes, there were no humans on earth. Which means that when we look to that galaxy, we are actually looking back in time – around 2,500,000 years back.
