Information reaching the PoliticsNGR newsdesk this morning reveals that in the late hours of Tuesday, July 25, suspected members of the Boko Haram Terrorist group ambushed a team of Oil exploration workers, killing some of them, while others are reportedly missing.

The incident occurred at a village between Gubio and Magumeri, Jibi local government area of Borno state. "The team includes staff of University of Maiduguri, Nigerian National Petroleum Commission, NNPC and security operatives", a reliable source said.

PoliticsNGR learnt that some of the victims were taken away by the terrorists, while others were killed. "Out of about ten vehicles in the convoy that went, only one returned so far', the source stated via a phone conversation.

The exact casualty figure is yet to be ascertained as there's no any official statement from any of the security outfits as at the time of filing this report.

Indeed! It's like the 40-day ultimatum by Buratai is making the monstrous creation of the north a.k.a boko haram even more daring. Provided d scope of dem boko demonic operations are limited to the domain of their creators, there's no problem at all beyond the unfortunate loss of lives.

Meanwhile which oil are they prospecting in Borno state?

Sad.

This is a very dishonest and irresponsible government that has chosen optics over people's lives!

They claim Boko Haram is degraded but only regulate the news of continuous incessant attacks.

They have utterly disregarded the wellbeing of the people. Six months of no Ministers is bound to bring on deleterious effects.

Next up. Let's all go visit the President.

Wicked is a polite understatement

ISIS were/are able to be well funded because they sell oil in the black market, FG should halt any oil exploration in the north esp Borno till BH has been defeated fully.

I prefer the military taking control of escorts. Ambush is a very bad thing as you don't know where the enemy is firing from. 5BHT can completely kill over 20 armed officers in an ambush if you're not being tactical.

Watch US military dash Cam or whatever during ambush, you'll see them wasting over 500 rounds just to suppress an ambush by just 2-5 ISIS member.

The rate of killing in this Godforsaken country is sickening. Do day passes without a death news. The worst part is that people hardly die of natural causes anymore. It is always murder and extra judicial killings. It is really sad.
