The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC may be heading for a final collapse as the local congresses scheduled for today has left the party more polarised and bruised.

The Spokesman of the party, Chris Finebone had in a statement issued on Friday revealed that the State-wide LGA Congresses of the party would hold Saturday in all 23 LGAs of Rivers State. Against public expectations, Mr.Finebone failed to provide further details on the scheduled Congresses.
Specifically, Finebone failed to provide the locations, venues and time where the Congresses were to hold in all 23 LGAs of the State. He had simply stated that such details have been duly communicated to APC LGA party officers. This was the first bone of contention, as some disgruntled party men had raised the alarm over suspected plans by some leaders of the party to hijack the process.

Reports from the various local government areas within the state indicate that the Congress was outrightly hijacked by individuals working on the orders of the Minister of Transportation, Mr.Rotimi Amaechi. Some aggrieved party members who wouldn't want their names to be mentioned online accused the former Governor of the state of using the so-called party Congress to formally install his long list of loyalists in all the 23 local government areas in a desperate bid to ensure His annoited candidate gets the Governorship ticket of the party ahead of the 2019 General elections.

Recall that few months ago, Mr.Amaechi had in what was termed a restructuring effort unilaterally sacked some Local Government Leaders of the party who he believed were working for the Governorship ambition of a popular Aspirant in the state under the All Progressives Congress against His will. The tension of that totalitarian act was yet to settle before today's incident.

Many political observers who confided in Suanu's Blog are of the opinion that these strange and wolfy democratic actions of Mr.Amaechi may eventually spell doom for the party ahead of the 2019 General elections.

Suanu's Blog further gathered that the results of the embattled Congresses were all written at a popular hotel in PortHarcourt called, Novotel. Thousands of angry APC Members had earlier today stormed the premises of the Hotel to prevent the actualisation of the evil scheme.

The Hotel which is known for being a notorious venue for Rivers APC Chieftains was said to have had national officers of the party who came to conduct the LGA congresses.

Supporters of Sen.Magnus Abe and other party faithfuls who had waited all day at their respective LGAs to elect their delegates in the congresses were among those who trooped to take over premises of the hotel where the fake results were allegedly being written against party rules and guidelines for the congress.

Days ahead shall surely present interesting political developments from the Oil/Gas Capital of West Africa.
