National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has introduced Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme (SAED) | NYSC Offers Opportunities for Self-Employment & Wealth Creation – 2017 Batch ‘A’ (Stream II)

Are you a 2017 Batch ‘A’ (Stream II) Corps member?

Do you want to become a successful entrepreneur?

Do you dream of owning your own business and creating jobs for others?

Here’s how you can actualize your dream:

The training of Corps members under the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme (SAED) is set to commence in all Orientation Camps on Monday, 31st July, 2017.

The programme, which commenced in 2012, is aimed at contributing towards curbing the rate of graduate unemployment in the country.

So far, nine hundred and sixteen thousand (916, 000) Corps members have been sensitized since the commencement of the programme.

GAINS OF SAED PROGRAMME
Here are some of the gains of the SAED programme over the past years:

1. NYSC has successfully entered into partnership with stakeholders, including the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Bank of Industry (BOI), and the Heritage Bank, with a view to empowering interested Corps members with start-up capital to fund businesses conceived after the SAED training;

2. NYSC/BOI Graduate Empowerment Fund (GEF), which kicked off in 2015, has so far granted business loans to 407 Corps Entrepreneurs. Maximum amount per beneficiary is Two Million Naira (N2m).

3. The CBN/NYSC Youth Entrepreneurship Development Programme (YEDP) kicked off in 2016, and has so far granted loans of Three Million Naira (N3m) each to seven serving Corps members and many Ex-Corps members;

NOTE: All the loans are given at single digit interest.

4. NYSC is partnering with stakeholders in the private sector to build Zonal Integrated Skills ACQUISITION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP Centres in all six geo-political zones.

The one for South-West has been completed in Ekiti State. That of the North-East has reached advanced stage in Gombe while construction work on the one for the South-South was officially flagged off early July 2017 in Delta State.

Why work for others when you can be your own master?

Won’t you rather give job to others?

NYSC SAED offers you opportunity for self-employment and wealth creation
