GOVERNANCE - This might look mundane, but, really, it is NOT. When a government is concerned and devotes time to talk about things that affect the governed in the real sense of it, then, that's true governance.

Do you know, that: (i) Breastfeeding is the best way to provide infants with the nutrients they need.
(ii) WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding starting within one hour after birth until a baby is six months old.
(iii) 823,000 child and 20,000 maternal deaths could be averted each year through universal breastfeeding
(iv) Delayed breastfeeding, even only 24 hours after birth, increases the child’s risk of dying within the first 28 days of life by 80 percent, according to the WHO.
(v) Research has found a clear connection between breastfeeding and higher IQ scores and educational achievement
(vi) Breastfeeding produces long-term health benefits for both the mother and the child.

Well, the Oyo state government is devoting 3 days of the 2017 World Breastfeeding week to sensitize and resensitize our mothers and intending mothers on the importance of raising a set of healthy, smart, and protected young citizens, with the facts like these stated above.

Adeoyo hospital, Yemetu - Friday 4th of August 2017;
Atiba and Oyo West - Monday 7th of August, 2017.
