The Opportunity

Plan International is embarking on an ambitious and exciting change process, to make the organisation more relevant, bold, engaging and effective in a new global context.

As a member of the GA management team (GAMT) and Operational Management Team (OMT) the Head of Internal Audit will be expected to partner with other senior leaders across the organisation to lead on first class stewardship of our resources and operational performance. The post holder will bring her/his expertise and leadership skills to bear to ensure a high quality review and assurance is in place to support continuous improvement of business processes, contributing towards cost effectiveness of business resources.

Key responsibilities of the role;
Manages the delivery of internal audit and assurance services across Plan International Inc (PII)
Provides objective, evidence based opinion on all aspects of the organisation’s governance, risk management and internal control matters
Works with the Director of Global Assurance and Finance Director, liaises with external auditors regarding audit plans and results
Liaises with compliance/assurance resources elsewhere in PII and National Organisations to ensure effective use of assurance resources globally across Plan network
Manages a dispersed team of 4 regionally based team managers and group of subject matter expert GA roles in IH
Works with other managers and Executive Directors to ensure an effective management control environment is in place to support the purpose and strategy of Plan International
Partners with Head of Counter fraud to ensure effective liaison and learning between Internal Audit and Counter fraud activities

The Individual

You will have demonstrable, progressive, innovative and successful audit and assurance understanding and experience within a dynamic, global, complex and change focussed organisation and proven managerial experience, with an emphasis on motivating and getting the best out of others.
You are an experienced business partner with expertise in sharing knowledge, recommendations and ideas to contribute towards a high performing, diverse and ambitious organisation and a credible and influential networker adept at building and sustaining strategic relationships across the global organisation.
