I recently saw the Asian trophy contest on TV. The tournament consisted of four teams from the Premiership in England - Liverpool, Leicester City, West Bromwich Albion (WBA) and Crystal Palace.

It was a good tournament that was hosted by the Hong Kong FA, played some excellent football. The last winners were Liverpool, who beat Leicester City 2-1 in the final.

Now here is where I have a handle. The match officials were mostly from England, with regular Premier League referee Bobby Madely, who took the final.

He had an assistant referee from England with the remaining two officials, the second assistant referee, and the fourth official, who was a woman, both from Hong Kong. That was the good news. The less said about the rest the better.
