People should leave the President alone to rest and take care of his health

There is an acting President in place who should run the country

This nonsense by Tinubu has got to stop!

We are only giving him reasons to contest 2019,
because, he will tell you he would have done more if not for his health, thereby ignoring the fact that his deputy(a legitimate member of his team) acted in his place.
that's were u get it wrong along with many Nigerians. D folks who are protesting though noble are even asking amiss. d whole issue isn't about whether he should return or resign or whether he handed over or not.d issue is does d president have d physical and mental capacity to do his job and if he doesn't what does d constitution say about it?if they say d president can't return to d country yet to do his job after 3 months cos his doctors haven't certified him fit, that means he is no in a state to carry out d functions of d office. Under d circumstances, d constitution according to section 144 doesn't say d president should "return" or "resign", but that he should b removed from office.its a pity that d press that ought to enlighten Nigerians about this have become deaf and dumb

Hypocrites. They understand he is about to come back. Now acting as if there protest will be the one to force him back. Trash!

Adeyanju and his cohorts are at it again. Bunch of hypocrites! You'll think they're doing it because they have the interest of the country at heart, but these are just a bunch of disgruntled elements who no longer have to free money because the PDP was in power.

Let them sit there for as long as they want please. Like protests can bring back the President when it's not time.

you are right except he is obstructing governance ,i dont see why he should be disturbed, and there is no evidence of this, he has done the needful. This just the handwork of those commercial civil society organisations, their motivation is usually different from that of common good.

Because you know that it says nothing on how long the President can be away for

You guys need to stop misinforming the public!

Osibanjo just need to get on with his job

This Tinubu campaign will fail!

If the South West wants to produce the President they should wait for 2019 and campaign for votes from Nigerian people.

Ambushing a sick man in order to bully him to resign just so Osibanjo becomes President just won't fly!

Buhari has satisfied his constitutional requirement which is to inform the NASS that he is going on medical leave. Nothing else is required.

And yes I have read various sections of the constitution on this matter and quite frankly I don't think you have read it.

You are making reference to a section of the constitution that deals with incapacitation and yet no medical panel has yet been formed. So what are you talking about?

144. (1) The President or Vice-President shall cease to hold office, if -

(a) by a resolution passed by two-thirds majority of all the members of the executive council of the Federation it is declared that the President or Vice-President is incapable of discharging the functions of his office; and

(b) the declaration is verified, after such medical examination as may be necessary, by a medical panel established under subsection (4) of this section in its report to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

(2) Where the medical panel certifies in the report that in its opinion the President or Vice-President is suffering from such infirmity of body or mind as renders him permanently incapable of discharging the functions of his office, a notice thereof signed by the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives shall be published in the Official Gazette of the Government of the Federation.

(3) The President or Vice-President shall cease to hold office as from the date of publication of the notice of the medical report pursuant to subsection (2) of this section.

(4) the medical panel to which this section relates shall be appointed by the President of the Senate, and shall comprise five medical practitioners in Nigeria:-

(a) one of whom shall be the personal physician of the holder of the office concerned; and

(b) four other medical practitioners who have, in the opinion of the President of the Senate, attained a high degree of eminence in the field of medicine relative to the nature of the examination to be conducted in accordance with the foregoing provisions.

(5) In this section, the reference to "executive council of the Federation" is a reference to the body of Ministers of the Government of the Federation, howsoever called, established by the President and charged with such responsibilities for the functions of government as the President may direct.

How can you quote section 144 and tell us the President must resign because section 144 does not talk about how long the President can rest for?

Section 144 is not even discussing how much leave the President can have! It is dealing with a different subject which is incapacitation!
