A hunter identified as Ikharo Iketu of Uhonmora-Ora (my community) in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo state has been crowned and celebrated for killing a huge Buffalo.
We all celebrated with Mr, Ikharo Iketu last night as all hunters dance (IYOKO) for him by killing BUFFALO ANIMAL last week. Indeed Ikharo Iketu has become a great man, warrior and bold in the community and he has rise to number 2 in the hunters circle in Uhonmora for him killing the biggest and largest buffalo in the Community. Iyoko dance is a hunter dance, they dance the way Animals dance and play in the bush and they dance it whenever a great hunter died or kills a large and wide animal.

The hunter shot dead the wild animal on Sunday, July 30th.

Have you been to Okomu National Park, Edo State? Okomu is a home of forest elephants, buffaloes, red river hogs, chimpanzees, leopards, bush baby, putty nosed guenon, porcupine, pangolins, duikers, antelopes etc. The white throated monkey which is one of the rarest monkeys in the world today is found at the park as well.

let me take you back to when you were not born. according to research 30 years ago, there were 200,000 lions roaming wild across the African continent but now there are only between 15,000 and 32,000 left. the man in my community was among the hunters who killed them.
