A basic website of 5 pages cost as low as 20-25k.
If you want a dynamic website or portal, esp where user sign up before accessing then be ready to budget extra.
To appear on Google search page is not a day's work. Your site needs to really be designed with SEO(Search engine optimization) in mind.
It has got to add value and hold a user's interest.
Getting noticed or doing business online is a highly competitive endeavour. You need a concrete long term plan.
Don't set up a cheap site and expect to make money tomorrow. Don't create low quality blog content with weak grammar and expect returning visitors.
Well, i could write a whole book on these questions. If you are serious, send me an email.

OK bro,
pleasureosondu@gmail.com.
But it will still be helpful if you post it here to help interested individuals learn too.
I'm not interested in owning a blog but a normal standard website that has a domain name like www......com.I can tell you exactly what functions I want it to perform in other to guide your probable cost estimation.I know it's very competitive, thus I want to know if it's worth investing.
* More of a social platform.
* If it's possible, it should have video upload function.
What will it cost to own such a website?
