A sick man had to use a standing fan for his survival after the oxygen in a hospital in Benue state got finished. The staff of Benue State Teaching Service Board identified as Terda Shiejir - was placed on admission in the Accident And Emergency (A&E) ward of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital. The man had to improvise after the hospital officials reportedly revealed that they ran out of oxygen yesterday as they said that they were awaiting for new supplies from Abuja.

He is badly in need of oxygen right now but since yesterday the one he was on (oxygen) finished, the hospital authority said they have ran out of oxygen and their supplier in Abuja has not brought in new supplies. The family asked where they can get oxygen to buy for him,but they were rather told its from Abuja only and can't be gotten in town here. As you can see from the pictures, there is a fan blowing him. These are the type of services we get in Nigeria hospitals but funny enough nobody will be held or queried even. Why can't we have an oxygen bank in a state like Benue? We need to do more to save lives in our hospitals else more people will die from simple solutions.

The earlier we force our leaders to use our hospitals in Nigeria or leave their position the better for us. If our oga at the top is getting the best treatment in a standard hospital in London and we the masses here can't even have oxygen to stay alive after sourcing for money to pay, then we have to rise up.

Makes me remember 2007 when I had to stay with my dad who had an accident at federal medical center Umuahia.

Or the very unfriendly nurses(the female ones oo, the guys are too nice).
I even sick pass my papa wey I come look after.
Nigerian hospitals are nothing to write home about.

Our hospitals need serious funding. Even that fan is likely blowing on generator.

While people are suffering and in dare need of the government, the president is galavanting in London almost for 100 days now.

They said he is healthy and hearty, what the heck is he still doing abroad? Isn't that a clear sign of irresponsibility
