LAGOS STATE LRU-EYE IN THE SKY GOES LIVE!
In a bid to continually save, protect, and sustain Lagosians lives and livelihoods, The LASEMA Response unit is moving the face of emergency response in Lagos State forward by launching drones to support disaster management and situational awareness in Lagos State.
The Drones will be constantly utilized to support Emergency Response by delivering a bird’s eye view of incident scenes. Once an incident is reported through the Lagos State Toll Free Emergency Lines (112 & 767), the drone will be deployed ahead of the Emergency Responders and provide them information on what exactly they are up against on the field. Responders can then be organized, prioritized, and assigned based on the severity of the incident.
Among the other benefits will be to drop supplies, medicine, and information to incident scenes if the team runs out of supplies especially in cases of building collapse where recovery can go beyond 24 hours.
The first drone footage captured a commercial bus accident on Third Mainland Bridge inward Adekunle, by Unilag waterfront.
This is a step in the right direction of fulfilling our commitment to protecting lives and livelihood in Lagos State and another demonstration of the fact that Lagos Cares.
