POSITION: Unit Head, Java Developer with ISO 8583 Framework

JOB INFORMATION
Develop, modify, or update applications used by business units or infrastructure units. Lead, or play lead technical role in development teams' efforts to determine unit needs and business processes that are automated by the application. Participate in or review all of the steps in the software development life cycle to create and modify the software.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required. Relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
4+ years of related experience

Specific responsibilities will include:
• Understand business workflow requirements from Operations team/Business Analysts and write code in required platform to deliver those requirements as part of agile team
• Write high-quality code and related documentation, design, perform unit testing
• Implement test-driven development, Continuous Deployment and Continuous Integration practices and adhere to Standard software development process.
• Assist team in supporting the application in test and production environments
• Identify opportunities for process and tool improvements; drive them from concept to implementation
• Keep abreast with the latest development practices in electronic payment industry

Skill Requirements/Responsibilities
• Excellent understanding of integration with third party APIs (Webservices, JSON, REST, XML, PYTHON, JAVASCRIPT etc.)
• Knowledge of Software/Application Development Methodologies and relevant languages such as Java (J2SE, J2EE)
• Good understanding of Secure Coding
• Good understanding on database design and query optimization
• Basic knowledge of the Financial Service Industry
• Participate with team of technical staff and business managers or practitioners in the business unit to determine systems requirements and functionalities needed in large/complex development project.
• Assess and develop high level design requirements for project and communicate in writing or in meetings with development team. Assess detailed specifications against design requirements.
• Review coding done to advance application upgrade, extension, or other development. Analyse application for data integrity issues.
• Develop test protocols or plan for testing revised application and review test results.
• Serve as project lead or lead technical staff in course of application development project
• Solid experience in other Object oriented language/Java.
• Experience with progressive development practices and tools (e.g. unit testing, static code analysis, continuous integration, etc.)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing documentation, training users in complex topics
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while remaining productive and professional; exercise patience and ability to multi task
• May mentor less experienced technical staff; may use high end development tools to assist or facilitate development process.
