The Catholic Priests were due to play the Anglican Pastors in a very important Inter-Religious Football match.
Two days before the match, the Goalkeeper of the Catholic team broke his leg and the doctor said he would not be able to play again for at least one month.
"What are we going to do? Said Father Matthew!
"Well," said Father Thomas, "It happens that Edwin Van Der Sar, the Manchester United Goalkeeper is my friend. We could ask him to keep for us."
"But that would not be fair" said Father Matthew.
"No, but if we call him Father Van Der Sar, no one will know," replied Father Thomas.
Eventually Father Matthew agreed to let the bad plan go ahead but then, as luck would have it, he was suddenly called away on official church business and was not able to watch the match. As soon as he could, he phoned Father Thomas for the result.
"I am afraid they beat us, 6-0," said Father Thomas.
"But how could that happen?" queried Father Matthew. "We had Father Van Der Sar in our team." "Yes," said Father Thomas, "but they had Pastor Van Der Vaart and Pastor Van Nelstroy in their team."
