Tom Cruise has thrown the Mission: Impossible 6 filming into chaos after reportedly breaking two bones during a failed stunt scene in London.
The daredevil actor, 55 - famous for insisting on performing all his own stunts - is said to have broken his ankle in two places after smashing into the side of a building when a roof top leap went wrong over the weekend.
The Sun reports that Cruise has jetted back to the US for treatment, forcing producers to push back filming on the shoot by months

A source tells the newspaper: 'The injury is worse than was at first feared. Tom did serious damage and will need months to recover.

He is the film’s biggest star and everything revolves around him. The movie’s bosses had no choice other than to postpone the filming.'

It is now believed the film's release could be pushed back from summer 2018 to Christmas that year because of the stalling.

The injury occurred when Tom came unstuck on Sunday during filming in the UK capital.
Video footage has emerged showing the esteemed actor taking a gigantic leap off some rigging and onto a rooftop while attached to a harness, but his jump appears to fall short and he crashes into the side of a building.

However, the star - who has been in training for a year in order to carry out the extreme stunts needs for the next Mission Impossible installment - seems to fall short of the mark and smashes into the building before falling down its side.
Following his crash, Tom is then seen limping away and falling to his knees, before clutching onto his legs seeming in apparent pain.
As the video ends, he is helped away from the set by stunt professionals.
