According to Lexicon dictionary, a statue is a sculpture, representing one or more people or animals (including abstract concepts allegorically represented as people or animals), free-standing (as opposed to a relief) and normally full-length (as opposed to a bust) and at least close to life-size, or larger.

Some of the confederate statues in the US dates back to the 18th century, most of which where erected to honour confederate leaders and probably to honor white suprematist at that period in time or maybe to remember the dark days in American history.

Be that as it may today, protesters are pulling down those statues. To me pulling them down perhaps may in some way demystify the white supremacy over blacks. Historically, the whites have always assumed the upper hand in governance in the US until Barack Obama became the first ever black man to be the president of US.

These statues have existed for decades and now why the attacks on them, in my own opinion, times are changing, more and more people are pouring into the US, some who may not agree with the ways of America hide within to destroy the fabrics of the system. More new religions who do not agree with erecting of statues are coming in and the youths are attending and listening to their preaching. My take on all this is that this may be the beginning of a more terrible thing to come. What if after destroying all the confederate statues the attackers decide to face those in the Catholic church, which may have a connecting history anyway. Wouldn't that signal another potential danger. Nlanders lets ponder on these things and the implications world over.
