My car started over heating since I change the compressor and condenser. Once I turn d AC on it's start over heating. Please what can be d problem.
I will suggest u change your radiator to a bigger type. it is called double cell radiator. what it does is that it will contain more water, this means more water will be circulating through the engine thus making the engine cool.

Where can I get a radiator coolant reservoir for a 2013 Kia Rio? Mine is leaking and causing my engine to overheat after running continously for about 45mins to 1 hour. I was told by a non-expert that I have to replace the entire radiator as I can't find the coolant reservoir stand-alone, but I vehemently disagreed.

When I started having problems with my car's cooling system, was when I realised AC was a luxury. cheesy grin

you can get reservoir standalone. but ensure you fix the front impact that cause the damage in the first place.

call this guy in ladipo 08033797571
the usuall problem is when the front of the car is involed in a minor accident, the reservoir starts to touch the compressor. and in a short time it starts to leak.

Haha bro.

So for a whole 365 days, the water in the radiator will not go drop, hence no need to even check it regularly except there is a leak.

I beg to disagree Sir.
Yes sir ,there wont be leak at all especially if you are using coolant .This is not theory nor YouTube but is a reality from experience gotten from more decade of professional practice .
If there is any reason for the level of coolant to reduce no matter how small and you need to be toopping up to make up for it then there there is leak however the issue with those leak especially the very small one is that they are not discernable to even an expert eye .You will need specialize equipment to detect this.
If still doubting my submission ,and you have a case ,you can bring it to my workshop and I will fish out the leak for you for free ,I don't believe in much talk but action !!!!

Bad advice !!! seems you know more than the manufacturer of the car that spend millions of dollars on research and development hence decide to put single cell that you now decide to alter their specification !!!

Hello Op... nice post you have here. Now you have given causes of overheating, I was hoping you'll also give us resolutions to these overheating causes.
I have a crv (99) that is overheating. If one drives below 80KM/hr, overheating wont happen unless one is stuck in traffic. But if I drive above 80Km/hr, that is when I experience overheating. The coolant/water dries out. What do you think could be the cause of this?
Check the direction of your fan !!!

Thank you very much. The cause has since been addressed. I had it (the resevoir) patched up a few times to save myself the cost of replacing but the leak keeps recurring after a few weeks at most. I will do the needful.

When your check engine light illuminates, it is often the first sign of car trouble. There are various reasons why your car's check engine light could come on, from a loose gas cap or faulty chip to a blown head gasket or something much worse. But when it comes to your engine overheating, there are 5 probable causes behind the problem. And the signs are not hard to see.

One of the first signs of an overheating car engine is usually seeing the temperature gauge nearing or exceeding the maximum internal engine temperature level illustrated on the dial. But most often, you just see smoke coming from the hood! You might also smell burning oil or fuel, which is another sign of your car engine overheating. Continue reading to learn five likely reasons why your car engine is overheating.

Radiator Issues

There are two common radiator defects that can lead to a car engine overheating. First, you could have a bad radiator fan. This fan blows air over the radiator fins in order to help control the temperature of the coolant. If it comes loose, has broken shrouds, or spins freely when the engine is off, it cannot perform its intended duties, causing the coolant temperature to rise and overheat the engine. But if the fan is not the problem, it could just be a faulty radiator. Leaks, clogs, and broken lines can cause a radiator to malfunction, and subsequently, cause a car engine to overheat.

Cooling System Issues

A vehicle's cooling system lines can get blocked or clogged with rust, dirt, or sediment. This inhibits the cooling system from being able to do its job, thus causing the engine overheat. This is why regular fluid flushed and replacements are imperative. Another common cause of an overheating car engine in terms of a vehicle's cooling system leaks. Leaks in the cooling system are a frequent cause for overheating car engines. Also, if you use the wrong concentration of coolant, it can have the same effect. Be sure to get an even water-to-coolant ratio.

Thermostat Issues

A bad thermostat is another common reason for overheated car engines. It is a heat-sensitive valve that opens and shuts in accordance with engine temperature. If something goes wrong and the thermostat gets stuck in the closed position, the car engine's temperature will skyrocket.

Water Pump Issues

The water pump is colloquially known as the "heart" of the vehicle since it pumps coolant much like a heart pumps blood. But a vehicle's water pump pressurizes and propels coolant through the cooling system, so it plays a major role in a car's temperature control. If something goes wrong, the coolant can't make it to the engine, and the engine gets too hot.

Belt and Hose Issues

Broken and loose belts, as well as, worn or burst hoses, are common causes for overheating car engines. Belts turn the water pump, which is essential for the cooling system and more. If they stop working, so does the cooling system. A faulty hose means leaks, which means a lack of coolant. This also causes a car to overheat.

Jst put any nylon material in front of the fan .if the fans are blowing in right direction the nylon will tend to be suck in instead of pushing away .

My car heating up issue was solved by an unbelievable solution: changing of the radiator cover.
I would drive for a short distance - 15km or so and then would be hearing boiling sounds from the hood, even though the temperature gauge seems normal. The mechanic at a glance suggested I change the radiator cover. One hand the thing resolve oh! grin
