Egypt boss Hassan Shehata has been given the green light to coach Nigeria during the World Cup in South Africa.
The Pharaohs mentor withdrew last week from the race to lead the Super Eagles at the showpiece in South Africa after he was denied permission by his employers, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), to fill the role on a short-term basis as his contract with the Egypt national team continues until the end of 2012.

But in an about-turn the 60-year-old has now been given the go-ahead by the Egyptian FA to lead Nigeria to the first World Cup on African soil.
“The FA’s general assembly gave Shehata the thumb up to coach Nigeria during the World Cup should a tangible offer is made,” Salah Hosni, an executive in the Egyptian football governing body, told FilGoal.com.

“FA president Samir Zaher is assigned to contact the Nigerian FA and follow up on this issue.”
The West Africans are looking for a new coach to replace Shaibu Amodu, who was recently sacked, and Shehata goes back onto the West African nation’s shortlist, which also includes Guus Hiddink, former Ghana manager Ratomir Dujkovic and Qatar boss Bruno Metsu.

Nigeria does not need ant foreign coach because we have little time to prepare 4 the world cup.all we need is an home base coach like samson saisa who know the present fitness of the players both home and in abroad.any coach that is taken 4 d eagles job will only come and eat nigerians money and go away with it and the most funny thing is NFF is planning to pay 4 the training site 4 the eagles when there is no coach and i belive its up 2 d coach 2 choose a conducive site for d players cos he know whats best 4 d player.wot do u think?
