A friend of mine needs advice . He wants to get a car for his wife and omeone told him he could get a honda buldog/bullet 1997/98 for 800k with custom papers.

My question is this.

Is there a better option than this price/models as against any other 2000/2001 model of honda or toyota as per price too?

I was thinking he could get a better deal geting a 2001/2000 model for about thesame price of 800k.

I have always believe in one thing : "Always get the best you can buy for the money you have". By that i mean, i would rather get a good running 1997/98 car than get a so-so running 2000/2001. It might seem like a good deal to get a 2000/01 car for the same amount that you can get a 1997/98, however its hard to make the call when i don't really see the vehicles you are comparing.

I will be very careful getting a 2000/01 camry or Accord for 700k unless of course its a Naija used. It will be nearly impossible (or divine miracle ) to land a good one (00/01) for that price.

So i will have to revert back to you in your judgement of the cars. Don't get lost in the year of the car just go by the functunality and base your judgement on that. Since you see the car there.

What good does it do you when you are stuck by the side of the road in your 2000/2001 vehicle and i can zoom past you in my 1993 Honda Allah with full A/C, running like a swiss watch, gbedu blasting?

Thanks for the heads up Oga Kunle. Ok now assuming he has more money to throw around like say 1 mill plus . would it be advisable to get a 00/01 model of the same kind?

Absolutely. Just make sure its a car in good condition

Ok. Told him but acording to him he mite wana go for the older 98 model cuz he feels day are better engineered(Wonder where he got that notion from ) and also stronger than the 00/01 models(I can understand the stronger aspect)

I also have the same feeling that Honda bulldog is stronger that Honda babyboy. I have not used either of them anyway but it is just my feelings.

Now I can see my friend is not the only one with notions, Lasisi also has his . Ok as far as I am concerned a car is judged by its reviews by people who have actually used such autos in various conditions etc. Can ppl who have actually used or who are techies on the above mentioned cars comment on this?
