There are just five places left up for grabs in the Champions League group stages after Celtic, Sevilla, Napoli, Maribor and Olympiakos all booked their spots on an eventful evening of football on Tuesday night.

Liverpool will be hoping to join their four Premier League rivals – Manchester United, City, Chelsea and Tottenham – in the upcoming draw, though must first finish off Hoffenheim in the second leg of their Play-Off on Wednesday night.

But the draw is at last starting to take shape, with the teams in both Pot 1 and Pot 2 now confirmed, and Premier League sides can begin working out who they are likely to face in the group stages…

WHEN IS THE DRAW AND HOW CAN I WATCH IT?

The draw for this year’s Champions League takes place on Thursday, August 24 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. The build-up begins at 5pm, with the draw itself expected to take place half an hour later, and can be watched either on BT Sport 2 or via the live stream on Uefa.com.

CSKA Moscow take a one-goal lead back to Russia; Copenhagen need to overturn a 1-0 scoreline when they host Qarabag; Sporting need an away goal in Romania against FCSB; Liverpool take two precious away goals back to Anfield when they host Hoffenheim; and APOEL claimed a 2-0 lead away to Slavia Prague.

Having won the Premier League title last season, Chelsea are seeded in the champions pot and will avoid most of Europe’s biggest teams. Nevertheless, Pot 2 is stacked with powerhouses, such as Barcelona and PSG, while even Pot 4 boasts the champions of Scotland and the Netherlands, as well as the runners-up from the Bundesliga. There could be several groups of death this time around.

WHEN WILL THE MATCHES TAKE PLACE?
Each team will play their group opponents twice, home and away, over six gameweeks. The group stage begins at the start of September and runs until the start of December, with matches played on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
