A Land Rover which has been fitted with tank tracks is expected to fetch £50,000 at auction next month. The rare vehicle was given a Cuthbertson conversion (swapping its regular tyres to tank tracks) shortly after it was built in 1958. Each track is 12-inches wide and has 40 steel shoes which drive four wheels on skinny tyres. At the end of each axle, there is a sprocket fitted which drives the tracks. Around 15 were built and this model is believed to be the only running one in the UK.
