*CAC LIVING WATER DAILY DEVOTIONAL...*
*Date:* Wednesday, August 30, 2017

*Topic:* STOP ARGUING
*Read:* Luke 4:8 -13

*MEMORISE* _In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise. *(Proverbs 10:19)*

*EXPOSITION*
A lot of Christians cannot live their lives free of unnecessary arguments. They always want to prove a point or the other. The Bible clearly warns that we should desist from vain arguments, as children of God *(2 Timothy 2:23)*.

When the devil approached Jesus Christ, after He had fasted for forty days and nights, he told Jesus that he owned all the kingdoms of the world. Jesus knew it couldn't have been true if not for Adams sins, *(cf. Psalms 24:1)* but did not go into unnecessary argument with him. Instead, He shut him up with the Word of God, *_"You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve_ (Luke 4:cool*.

Jesus could as well behave as some Christians do, today, by trying to *'prove'* the point of His Lordship, but He did not waste His valuable time and energy on vain things, knowing fully well that He has a lot of work to do than to start up argument with the devil, that wasn't going to glorify God.

Christians, beware of those conversations that will not edify the name of the Lord. Stop proving to people that you know all. Instead, spend your time qualitatively for your Maker, by doing His business. Know that you have limited time to do the work *(cf. John 9:4)*. Conserve your energy for the things that please your Maker.

When there is a thing to argue about, apply wisdom and let go, not because you accept defeat, but because there are better things to do with your life and time. You should learn to lose a battle to win the war.

*PRAYER POINTS*
*1.* Father, please deliver me from the spirit of 'I know it all'.
*2.* Lord Jesus, give me the grace to do those things that will always profit Your kingdom, in Jesus' name.
*3.* Lord, help Your Church to concentrate on the work at hand dissemination of the gospel, rather than pursuing vain things.

*EXTRA READING FOR TODAY:* 1 Samuel 15-17
